Lanier RC™ introduces an exciting addition to their 21st Century line of Almost Ready to Fly (ARF) airplanes. The Lanier RC Mariner 120™ is a (1.20 size) model aircraft capable of easy take off and landings on water. The Mariner taxis on water with authority from rudder control at the vertical stabilizer, which extends below the waterline. Spray rails and hull lifters ease the transition from boat to bird as the craft quickly gets up on step to leave the water.

The almost ready to fly Mariner 120 has a built up wood fuselage and wing of balsa and strengthening hardwood ply. The engine pod is mounted above the wing via a hardwood mast that is secured through the fuselage to the base of the air-boat. The symmetrical wings have fiberglass tip floats to stabilize the craft while on water. The entire aircraft (including fiberglass reinforced hull) has carefully applied iron-on covering. The fiberglass cowling, and wing floats are pre-painted to match one of the three color schemes: orange and white, red and white, or yellow and white.

The Lanier RC Mariner 120 includes high quality 4-40 sized flight control mechanisms and hardware. Carbon fiber push-rods and metal clevises also help make the Mariner 120 strong, reliable, and durable. The air and water craft was designed by Jerry Smith, associate editor for Radio Control Modeler magazine.

The Mariner 120 hull is reinforced with fiberglass for strength on water landings.

Fiberglass tip floats aid in take off and landing.

The Mariner 120 has hull lifters on the bottom of the hull/fuselage to aid getting up "on step" so the aircraft may run along the top of the water. Once proper speed is achieved, then a slight pull on the elevator will get the Mariner 120 aloft.
